value of older hardy fly rod

joe...I have a hardy fly rod...#H54416.  Cherry condition...Plastic still on handle  in original sleeve in tube.. single tipped.  I believe it is a #5 Phantom  Hollokona.  Ball park value to a collector????

Hi John,

Interestingly enough, this specific rod is not listed in my reference book.  Not unusual as I find that many models are not listed.  Looking at other rods in the Hardy lineup I would guess that this rod is from  the 1970s and it's value should be in the $500-$600 range.  

I would emphasize that this is a guess.  From what little I could find on this model it is highly regarded as a fine casting fly rod.  It may or may not be prized by collectors beyond the value guessed.

It will give you a point to start thinking about pricing.
