On board battery chargers

Question
I have a three bank DUAL PRO CHARGER PROFESSIONAL on board connected to my three trolling motor batteries and a XPS i5 charger for my cranking battery. Is it ok to leave the chargers plugged in all the time? Does this affect the life of the batteries?

Answer
Hi Rickee,

This question is way outside my area of expertise.  My recommendation would be for you to contact the manufacturer or at least the dealer where you bought the chargers or the boat.  That would be your best source of information.

It is my understanding that most of these devices are safe, can be plugged in all the time, and actually extend battery life.  I also have one on my boat.  However, do not take my word for it.  Check with the manufacturer of each of your devices for safety and usage information.

Thanks,  Joe
