fred divine rod dating

Question
I have 2 Fred Divine rods that came from gramps, original condition, with the original sticker, cherry wood reel seats, etc. the nine foot, 3 piece one is stamped H4352 on the butt cap, and the ten foot, 3 piece one is stamped H4378. Can these be dated?

Answer
Dave,
Yes they can be dated.
Devine was in business from 1885 to 1934 ish.
But I bet you were looking for more specifics.

According to Michael Sinclair in Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook. The letter was added as A in 1910 , B was 1911. This means you rod was 1917 by the H.
Luck,
Mac
