Please Help!!! THE HORTON MFG CO. BRISOL.CONN

Question
Dear Mr Rich Mac McGaughey.

My name is Tomas Beyer and I磎 liveing in Sweden.

I have inherited an Bristol Rod, and I need som help of your EXPERTISE.

The rod is of steel and it is telescopic. The total rod-length is ca 9 foot.

The handle is of wood, an the reel seat is of chrome (I think). And by turning the handle you can
use the rod for either Fly or casting.

On the reel seat there is an engraving. Besides the "BRISTOL-logtype" with an rod straight cross the name,
"THE HORTON MFG. CO" "BRISTOL.CONN". There is also an engraving at the end of the reel seat near the
handle "ATD. UG 20. 1907."

There is further more an engraving on the first "loop" on the rod that says "PAT. JUNE 10. 1913."

The Rod with its handle, is in a nice condition. But unfortunately i don磘 have the case.

I should be very greateful if you could help me with more INFO and an VALUE.

Yours sincerely
Tomas Beyer.

Answer
Tomas,
I have seen several steel , telescopic fishing rods. There doesn't seem to be a market, no one is collecting them. They are too heavy to fish. Value is zero.

Bristol is a town in Connecticut , USA where bamboo rods were made by Edwards.
