Heddon Superlative Fly rod

Question
Hi - Jeff here in Bemidji MN.  I have inherited my Grandfather's Heddon fly rod.  It is marked as follows:  T Heddon Superlative  #T880  8 1/2'  Doc E.  I have the original aluminum tube as well.   I believe that my Dad gave it to his father in law in about 1945 upon returning from WWII.  It is a family heirloom I hope.  Any info would be appreciated!

Answer
Jeff,
Not sure what kind of info you are looking for.
History of Heddon Rod CO.:
http://www.lu-c-an.com/JamesHeddon.htm
however they never used T Heddon. The famous Heddon bamboo rod maker was James or James Heddon and sons.
Nor is the model Id Superlative  #T880 in "Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide" BY Homel, Dan. 1997 nor Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair .
Are you sure it is a fly rod , what is at the end handle or reel seat ?
Is it bamboo (flat sided)?
Good Luck
Mac
