Vintage Black Rod Fly Rod Valuation: Get a Professional Estimate

I have a 7 foot black rod brand fly rod and my biddy wants to by it and all I know about it is it was made either in the 60's or 50's. where do i go to find the value of this rod so neithe of us get ripped off?

You can get a professional estimate ( it costs).

You can look up your rod in a book, if it is a bamboo (flat sides) fly rod; Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 or Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook -Michael Sinclair .
If is not a bamboo fly rod , it is not worth much, certainly not thousands barely well hundreds.
Does that explain how "neithe" you or your "biddy" won't feel ripped off ?
