Identifying Your NFT Glass Rod Fishing Pole: History & Specs

I have a telescopic 17 ft 7 in fishing pole. It is marked, NFT Glass Rod, 170, 5.40/6 and Japanese writing on it. The handle is wrapped with line in 2 places with stainless reel seat.Do you know any information on it.

Hi Ed,

My only knowledge of NFT is that it sometimes comes up in bamboo fly rod discussions.  

NFT is Nippon Fishing Tackle and the company is in Japan.  They are known for distributing a lot of sub-par quality bamboo fly rods post WWII.

Your telescoping rod could be from that same era.  I could not find any information about recent activity of the company.
