Feeder Fishing: Understanding Leader Lengths & Techniques
Question
why do you use a long tail when feeder fishing?
Answer
This question is probably better directed to someone who has greater knowlege of Feeder rigging. I know a little about Feeder fishing. In most cases a leader length of around 18" was standard, but I have heard of anglers using leads as long as 36" to 48". As is normal in most rigging, longer leads are usually used for more skittish fish. This could be caused by clear waters or heavily pressured fish. In more murky waters, I'd want the baited hook closer to the feeder. I hope that this helps a little.
