I'm getting ready to buy a new deep cell battery
for my trolling motor. Can I hook 2 12 volt batterys together for a 12 volt system ? Would it increase the storage of the system? Or would I be better off staying with 1 battery? What type of battery would you buy?

You can connect two batteries in parallel for a longer use, however doing so will make charging the deep cycle batteries to full charge unlikely unless you charge them as two seperate batteries with an isolated charger disigned for deep cycle batteries. If you use a four wire plug for the trolling motor you can wire the plug to parallel the 12 volt batteries and then wire up another plug for the charger that will plug into the connector to charge the two batteries. This plug set up will only work for a 12 volt trolling motor and not a combo 12 and 24 volt trolling motor. If you need instructions on wiring the connectors, please contact me by direct email.
