Electronics for 36 foot boat

Question
I just purchased a 36' Uniflite Sport Sedan with a large flybridge which I will use to cruise locally and in time, explore areas up and down the east coast.  She is has dual operating stations. She has only an old depth finder on lower station. Upper station had old Ray Jefferson unit, but not working. I can see myself using a radar, maybe low end LCD model, and a GPS Chart Plotter.  Fish finder nice, but not that important at the moment.  Plan to have boat pulled next spring, that is when I will be able to have thru hull transducers installed. What would you recommend that will work, but not break the bank?   Appreciate your assistance.. Thanks..

Brian

Answer
Brian,
Where do you plan on keeping your boat for the winter. My shop is located in Elkton, MD. If you are close by you can call my shop and I can better explain your options. As far as a depth sounder goes, I would select a Raymarine unit with Sea Talk. With sea talk you can interface it to other Ray Marine units in the future. When installing a Transducer you may also want to install a speed paddle wheel for the Depth sounder also at that time.
