dolphin techniques

Question
I am going fishing offshore in Charleston SC this weekend on an overnight trip that mainly bottom fishes.  The dophin and tuna are being caught quite well right now in the area.  What type of techinques and set ups would you recommend to surface fish off a stationary boat.

Thanks

Kirk

Answer
Kirk, I guess I am too late to answer as it is Sat. noon & you must already be out fishing. I don't know how deep the water is there where you are going. But if there are Mahi- Mahi around they will hit almost anything shiny. But they really like live bait. Sardine or Small Skipjack Tuna are great baits. Otherwise I would say get a Heavy Duty Spinning Outfit I cast around several types of lures. Rapala's Mirror-Lure's Stuff like that. E-mail me at [email protected] & let me know how you make out. I hope the weather is great for you. Good luck, Randy
