Heddon 103 Rod Repair & Reel Compatibility - Expert Advice

I found several bamboo rods at an estate sale
The 103 was delaminatimg so I did repair on that
The cork is deteriorated and wonder if you can advise on that
What is correct reel for this it is the 1935 version

I put it one eBay but may just keep it

I am also missing a red guide do you have one?

Hi Joe,

To be correct for the period, the reel for this rod would be an older level wind reel.  Look for an older Heddon, Pflueger or something similar.

The red guide is agate lined.  Yes, I do have one.  Contact me at joe@blackdogtackle.com and I'll verify the size you require.
