Vintage Fishing Rod Identification - "The New Yorker"

I found this rod in an old estate sale in the garage, in the rafters, no less.I will describe it as best as I can with no knowledge of fishing.  The rod itself is a silver metal with brass fittings. It is engraved " THE NEW YORKER" in between the cork pieces. The corks are not one piece but rounded pieces fitted together. The rod together  measures roughly 64 1/2". Can't find a thing about this rod. Would greatly appreciate any info you might have and it's value.

Answer
Hi Jean,

Potential makers for the rod include Folsom Arms Company, Gephart Manufacturing Company, Horton Manufacturing Company, Orchard Industries, American Fork and Hoe (true Temper), Union Hardware and others.  Folsum Arms did like to use New York City names on their rods.  Union Hardware sold a three piece tubular steel rod like this one.  I do not have a specific listing for "THE NEW YORKER" but these would be likely candidates to start searching.

Likely date of manufacture is in the 1920s-1940s range...pre-WW II...and the value would be in the $10-$45 range depending on actual condition of the rod.

Thanks,  Joe
