Preventing Hook Swallows in Bass Fishing: Techniques & Considerations

How can I prevent bass swallowing the hook and damaging the fish? The rigs work great, but they damage the fish causing alot of the released fish to die!

unfortuantly there is no sure fire way to prevent a fish from swallowing a hook. You can use shorter hooks but that can decrese your hooking power. i usually try to set the hook a split second faster than normal but you cant always do that. sometimes a fish will just engulf a lure and there is nothing you can do.. thats the world of fishing...
