Question
Me and my brother were pulling a small shrimp trawl just out from Fort Morgan Alabama and caught several fish that looked like flounder. They were about 4 inches long, had both eyes on the same side, same colors as a flounder. The only thing different was that its tail came to a point. It was teardrop shaped. Can you tell me what it is called?

Answer
Hi Randy-

Those are called tounge fish. They only get a few inches long and are often caught in shrimp trawls on the gulf coast and east coast.

What purpose the fish serves, no one is quite sure. But, there seems to be thousands and thousands of them.

Google Search Tounge Fish and you will find your creature there.
