Fishing Line

2016/7/15 10:23:47

Question
If fishing line has been on a reel for some time, is it still okay to use ie does it have a 'best before date'?

Answer
Hi Mike,

This totally depends on what type of fishing line you have on your reel. If you have monofilament (nylon) and it has been subjected to heat, then it is ADVISED that you change it. Theres no absolute rule on this as people practice more of this because they dont want to risk the chance of losing a good fish.

Braided lines and other superlines dont rot and can therefore be kept on the reel for as long as they are in usable length.
