Question
QUESTION: I just moved here from FL, and my 27 Cape Horn will be here middle of Decemeber. I was wondering where I could go to find out what fish are actually out there - heard Kings, Tuna, Sails - how bout Wahoo, other bill fish, what kidn of Tuna? As for bottom fishing I dive so I just go get them. but as for trolling I need to know what is out there and generally when they are in (like I hear Tuna and Sails are getting ready to come in (28degrees temp is target). Any help would be most appreciated.

ANSWER: Hi Sam, thanks for asking.

the sails are close to iran, so with the tuna. best bet for nice fish would be around musandam.

ever since the construction of the palms and the world, fishing turned. kings are still around, snappers and cobia.

QUESTION: I also have the option of fishing out of Abu Dhabi, and have access to the private waters near Ghantoot. So I might head up that way. I was wondering if I should be looking for humps or ledges (I have no idea of what the general structure of the Gulf floor looks like other than it is flat for a long time and fine silt) Obviously either are usually good for fishing but just wondering what is out there. Thank again

Answer
Sam, any type if fishing is structure fishing. No matter how deep or shallow.

Bottom features are very important to your fishing success.

on that note, you can find depresions, small humps and shallow drops around the gulf, however, the predominant structures you need to look for are wrecks. Find them, and the fish are there...most of the time.
