clam rigs

Question
I've just started to fish the Jersey Shore, Upper Barnegat Bay and out the Manasquan Inlet, from a 19 foot boat. I'd like to know one or two rigs for clams, including weights, line, leader, and their set up.

Answer
Hi Tom,

Please check out one of the earlier questions about rigs. I posted a URL that that could help you out.

The rigs are made for the type of presentation and situationj you face, not really the type of bait you are using.

So, if you specifically need two. look for diagrams of a sliding sinker rig, either with an eggt sinker or one with a pyramid sinker. these are also called fish finder rigs.

another rig that is worth mentioning is the fly line. its nothing but a hook at the end of your fishing line.

fished correctly, these rigs are the most versatile and are hard to beat.
