fly tying thread

Question
I have been researching thread to tie flies with. My favorite is UTC 140 denier thread by Wapsi. I tie in mass quanities, making this thread a bad financial choice. Are  there sewing or nautical theads available in bulk that are similiar in size and material(nylon or polyester) that can replace my favorite?

Answer
Hi Shanon, sorry for the delay in answering this.

You can use the sewing thread or nautical threads I'm pretty sure. There are still people out there that use them. Before the age of "fly tying threads" and other fancy stuff, people made do with what they have and ordinary thread was often used.

I believe you just have to take care of the colors(of the thread),  as some may bleed out and the real trick is sealing them in. those two things are going to be very important to the over all look of the fly.

Fly tying thread or ordinary thread, by the time you are done sealing it even you wouldn't know the difference.

Again, thanks for asking and I apologize for the delay.
