Wedge Guide: Understanding Gap, Pitching, and Lob Wedge Degrees
Question
Greetings Ed...My question is this. What's the difference between a gap wedge & a lob wedge? What are the degrees of angle between each club?
Thank You..
Answer
Hi Ken:
Simple. The usual gapping sequence between wedges is: Pitching wedge, 48 degrees; Gap wedge, 52 degrees; Sand wedge, 56 degrees; Lob wedge, 60 degrees.
These degrees may vary slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but generally speaking, that is your gapping of wedges.
