I am 61, 6'4" 6-handicap, 7/8 iron from 150, I need for you to recommend a shaft for my driver, it has a low ball flight and really digs in when it hits with very little roll. I seem to "trap" the ball. Driver distance 240-250

The first thing I would recommend is to place the ball further up in your stance and tee the ball up higher. It sounds like you are making contact on the downswing thus trapping the ball with considerable backspin. You really would like the club to be traveling level to the ground to slightly ascending. These two changes should help immensely.

If this doesn't do the trick, then find a demo day to try other shaft flexes, lengths and try a shaft that has a high kick point. The high kick point will help get the ball in the air as well as a flexible shaft. There is a fine line as you'll discover between a trajectory that is too high and the one one you're experiencing now.

A local PGA Professional can also help when he/she sees you swing the clubs with different shafts. It shouldn't take long to find the shaft that is right for your game.
