iron club length +1

Question
Hello,
I had a PING club fitting done a a demo day and the fitter suggestion I go +1 on my irons. I have play standard all my life.  I have tried this set i5 just about a year now and am thinking to cutting the length to +1/2.  I am 6' 3" with a wrist to floor at 36.75 inches.  The swing weight now are D6 and about E2 on the wedges. Could they be butt trim to a shorter length??

Hello Richard:

Sure but that would make them a little heavier and a little stiffer if OK with you.  Cutting a half inch should not make too much of a difference, and if it more comfortable for you having played standard your whole life, do it.  So why are you thinking of cutting it back a half inch?  Do you hit it solid or are you hitting it off the toe or heel?  Just curious.
