Changing my swing

Question
Today I was asking my coach on some tips for my swing... he noticed my swing was coming too far inside, so he told me that when the club was halfway up it should be parallel to another club on the ground next to your feet. Then it should go straight upwards... I'm not sure about this, it seems good but with my drivers and such I'm not doing so great with this new swing. And I was trying to also switch to an inside out swing.. can I do this with this new swing?

Answer
Jeffrey,

I agree when the club is waist high, it should be it should be parallel to that club on the ground. This can only happen if you use your shoulders and not your hands and wrists. If you continue to use your shoulders to complete the swing, the club should once again be parallel to the target line and the club on the ground.

This only can happen if your posture is correct. Get with your coach and go over some of the basics and see how this works out for you.

Thank for the question and good luck with the upcoming season.
