pga tour players

Question
Are regular tour players like Tiger, Phil, ernie, or any one in this category allowed to play a nationwide event?

Answer
Yes.

Any member of the regular tour may at anytime drop down to play the Nationwide.  It is not however the reverse for Nationwide to Regular Tour.  When this happens, a conditional player can be bumped from the field.

From a standpoint of earnings, why would they.  It is not generally done as, the purses are considerably less on the Nationwide.  Not to say it has not been done.  It really all depends upon the pecking order for weekly tour events.  A player who has conditional status on the regular tour, will at times drop down and play the nationwide to boost both career and season earnings as well as have a place to play for that week.

In some Nationwide events, the competition is actually tougher than in the Regular tour events.
