Native-Americans in Golf

Question
Hello. I am a graduate student doing a thesis on designing a golf course for minorities and women. My question is, "Were there any Native-Americans in the history of the game?" Thanks.

Antonio

Answer
Antonio,

I am guessing you did not receive my last reply.  So here goes again.

The only Native American I am familiar with that is out on the PGA Tour is Notah Begay.  I don't know where you could find out more information except to contact the PGA Tour and see if you could get in touch with Mr. Begay's agent, then you could possibly talk with Notah yourself.  From interviews and what not, he seems like a cool guy, and he might be interested in giving his views to you and help with your research.

You can go to PGATour.com to find the appropriate e-mail addresses, or call the PGA of America.

Thanks for your questin, and good luck!
