whats the highest par on any course?

Hi Brynn, and thanks for your very interesting question.

We can look at this in two ways.  The highest par on a hole and the highest par for an 18 hole course.

I think I have heard of one hole in the U.S. that is over 800 yards long and it is a par 8.  I have actually played a 680 yard par 6 in Pennsylvania.

I have heard of some courses with par of 75 or 76.  Off the top of my head, I can't think of any higher than that.  A lot of it has to do with the size of the land for the course, and that would dictate the length of the holes, etc.
