Help Needed!!!!!!!

My 15 year old son id just shy of 6'1" 155lbs.& size 12 shoes. Just started snowboarding & am now shopping for a board. We have been told 2 different things by 2 different so called store experts. #1. Get a wide short board 159 #2. Get a board that is at least 163 but on the wide size. Please help I don't want to pay out money to find out I bought the wrong set up.

question: what kind of terrain does your son like to ride?
the shorter board will help him in the terrain parks, if thats where he spends most of his time. choose the larger board if you live somewhere that gets large amounts of snow. in general stick with the wide boards....try for a 161.
