High Diving

Question
Would you recommend a maximum height that it is safe to hit water from and not be injured (even if you landed on your back / bellyflopped etc)?   I read your comments re 10m boards and would be interested to knolw of appropriate progressions to enable people to jump / dive from heights and remain confident.

Answer
Hi Trevor - The only height in this sport where you will not get hurt is going off the side of the pool.In order to answer the rest of your question, I need more information.

What type of pool are you using : water depth and the height of the springboards/platforms that are available to you?

Are you the one diving or do you have an instructor ?

Do you want to do this recreationally or competitively? If competitively, what are the ages of the divers?

Any other info you can think of will help. Please re-submit your question(s) with this info. Thanks.
