Red Cross & B.S.A. lifeguard

Question
My son has his Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Lifeguard certification.  Is that considered comparable/compatible to the American Red Cross certification?  I believe the BSA is a more difficult certification, but I'd like to find out if he would also have to take the Red Cross course to lifeguard at our local pool this summer?  I GREATLY appreciate any insight you could offer on this question, or if you could point me in the right direction.

Thank you

Answer
Most pools have their own requirements, whether it's Red Cross, BSA or some other certification.  Your best bet is to check with the aquatic center at the time of application to see which they require.
It is totally up to each individual center.
Hope this helps,
George
