Swimming style

Question
Which swimming style works the shoulder and butt muscles best? Is it freestyle, breaststroke or butterfly or some others?

Answer
Shawn,
Now that is a question that I don't normally get.  You aren't going to get a necessarily better work out on your shoulders and butt from any one stroke.  Swimming in general is great for your shoulders...so long as you stretch.  I would say that freestyle is the best.  You can do it the longest without tiring.  Butterfly is best for your back.  Breastroke is best for your chest.  However these strokes aren't going to beef you up or tone you per se.  All swimming strokes are total body workouts.  As for the butt...hmm.  I would say that just kicking in general is best.  Try doing butterfly kicke with a kick board.  That should give you a great workout.  I wish I could answer your question better, but swimming isn't designed to target one specific muscle group.
Good luck.
Swim hard.
Eric
