Question
Hi,Im an adult woman just learning to swim. I am doing the breaststroke style. I am able to swim with my head under water but i seem to have great difficulty in learning to bring my head up to breathe. Also when i do so, i loose my leg movements (coordination). could you please give me some suggestions. Desperate to learn!! indy

Answer
Good Morning,
When you are doing the breast stroke be sure that your arms are only coming as far down as your shoulders. At that point you will lift your head and then as you push your arms back out to the glide position you will lower your head and blow the bubbles out. I would suggest practicing the legs and arms separate until you get the breathing and arms. At that point the coordination for the legs should fall into place.
Good Luck.
