Hello,

Thank You for your reply regarding the usefulness of swimming in burning fat. So if swimming doesnt burn fat.... then what good is swimming for ? and why is it called a full body exercise if you dont burn anything ?

Answer
Swimming is a good exercise for aerobic fitness.  It exercises most of the muscles in your body with very low impact, which means it's not prone to harming joints, no pounding involved.  Normally only competitive swimmers maintain a heart rate high enough(150-180 beats per minute)to burn fat.  I'm sorry for the bad news, but don't stop swimming, it's still great for maintaining weight and staying fit, you just need to find a complimentary exercise for burning fat, a stationary bike or jumping rope are 2 good choices.
