Motivating My Son

Question
We live in Florida and have access to a safe nice swimming pool.  I have a 12 years old son who swims a little bit.  I would like him to really learn to swim well (for his own safety) but he do not want to take the clasess.  How could I motivate him?  What games or activities could kids of his age could enjoy on a swiming pool that are safe and may involved several kids?

Thank you

Answer
I would strongly suggest private lessons with a friend or two of his that he is comfortable with. I too am in Florida and with the massive amount of water access that this state provides even a novice 12 yr old swimmer can benefit from lessons. I wish I had a better answer for you.
