Wrestling Defense

Question
What defensive move did you find most effective when someone took a shot on you? Can you list a few of your favorite and their advantages and disadvantages. Thanks

Answer
that's a much more complicated question then one would think.  defense is different for everyone and the type of shot will determine what someone will do.  i live by the philosophy of basics, basics, basics.  so sprall, stuff the head, turn the hips, hit the corner, was always my favorite. but if i had to say which was the easiest and most desired was the block and spin. if i forced my opponent to take a bad shot i would(if i was spinning to the right) take my left hand over the top of his head and place it in his opposite armpit blocking his arm while i spin around him.  good defense has not disadvantages, just advantages.  if you do it right you beat up on the other guy and score and break his will to make a good shot.
