Question
i am a junior in high school and this is my first year wrestling. i am in the 215s
and they are all basically bigger and fatter then me. when i want to shoot and
attack them i cant grab their legs or waist because its to big for me to grab.
what are my options on taking them down before they lay on me and pin me?
what can i do to get faster?

Answer
well there are some technique things you can do to improve your position while you're shooting that will help. first: (by yourself) go down to two knees, while you're there put one foot up in a shooting position. this is as low as you should ever be when you shoot. any lower than that and you're helping your opponent defend your shot. second, while you're shooting keep changing direction.  when you take a shot and you get stopped if you're still on your knees you can turn the corner.  make your opponent have to shift his hips to follow you. if you do it right you can turn one semi-good shot into a pretty good shot with a simple shift of your hips and shoulders, and a change of direction.  try that and see how it works.  good luck!
