Diy Pool Care

2016/7/21 15:21:43

I knew that I wanted to have a chemical free pool, but I really wasn't sure what to do about that. I mean, sure it's all well and good to talk poorly of chlorine and other such chemicals, it is another thing to be able to find safe and effective alternatives for them. There were so many pool care systems available that I wasn't sure where to start. Should I go for ionic water treatment, ozone water, mineral treatments, or something completely different? What I learned was this: a "shotgun" approach of using just one system is not a good idea; as it may not address all the aspects of pool care. Rather, having several systems that worked together to create a synergistic approach would be the most effective. The way it would work would be that each unique system would focus on only one swimming pool care factor, like algae for example.

While I was a little bit suspicious at first of this swimming pool care via multiple systems approach, what I found was that it worked brilliantly. If something was out of wack, all I had to do was adjust the system that was responsible for that aspect. I didn't have to work too hard to figure out what had gone wrong because everything was very obvious. You know what that means- more time to actually enjoy the pool which, after all, was the main reason that I got the pool in the first place. I know I've made a good choice because my neighbor, who has a chemical pool...er, I mean, my neighbor who uses chemicals in his swimming pool... seems to spend more time trying to fix the pool than he does enjoying it.

If my kids want to spend all day hanging out the pool, I don't worry about them at all, although I do make my daughter wear a swim cap. She's got such sweet blonde hair, I'd hate to see it turn green. That's probably the one things that my chemical free pool does that isn't the greatest, but then, most pools have enough copper in them to turn hair, so there's just not much you can do about that unless you just buy a beach house and swim in the ocean!

So far, the benefits of having a pool have been tremendous. Swimming has been a great form of exercise for the whole family, whether we're goofing around and playing volleyball or just swimming laps in the morning. I think we have all learned to relax a little better as well. Lying under an umbrella next to the pool or floating around in the pool has certainly decreased stress levels around here. I'm a bit of a homebody, which means I didn't always see my friend as much as I'd like, but let me tell you what- having a pool certainly makes summer entertaining a lot easier!
