What Type Of Swimming Pool Cover Should I Choose?

In order to determine what the best choice of swimming pool cover is for you, you need to examine your family's personal needs and preferences. You should also consider your budget as well. There are several options for both the type of cover and the way in which each cover works.

One method of covering a pool is to use a semi-automatic swimming pool cover, which uses a reel system that is driven by a motor. Electrical power is used to roll and unroll the cover. However, this type of cover usually requires one person on either side of the pool to pull on the cover while it is being unrolled and a person to guide the cover onto the reel.

Another issue with this sort of cover is that they are usually mounted on reels, which are on wheels. At times, that can be convenient but, if a strong wind comes up, the reels can occasionally roll across the yard or possibly into the swimming pool itself. As a result, such reels should be braced with something heavy, such as a brick.

An automatic swimming pool cover, on the other hand, is permanently mounted in place. This type of cover automatically covers and uncovers the pool with one push of a button. While more convenient and faster, they are also more expensive. Also, they have the potential to break down and so they may eventually require repairs.

A winter swimming pool cover is one available type. Contrary to their name, they can be used all year. A winter pool cover is ideal if you are concerned about controlling water evaporation and cleanliness. However, winter covers are not strong enough to support a lot of weight.

If you have small children or pets that wander outside, you may want to consider a safety swimming pool cover instead. Safety pool covers are fitted into tracks along the sides of the pool. This prevents anything or anybody from getting into the water. They even support the weight of several people. They can be run manually, semi-automatically, or automatically. A power safety cover should support the weight of two adults and a child, in order to make a rescue attempt possible.

One of the most popular types of swimming pool cover is the solar cover. Solar covers are designed to absorb the heat of the sun. They then transfer this heat to the swimming pool. This, in turn, reduces the cost of heating the swimming pool. So, if you, or your family, enjoy swimming in warm water, a solar cover may be the choice for you. However, keep in mind that most solar covers are fairly thin and so they are not designed to support human weight. This means that anyone with small children or pets may want to take extra care.

There are so many options when purchasing a pool cover. By taking the time to explore all of your swimming pool cover options, you should be able to easily find a cover that suits both your family's needs and your budget.
