Hunting on Private Land

You do not need a license to hunt on your own land or on land that you have permission to hunt on. However, you must follow all other hunting laws and regulations, such as bag limits, season dates, and tagging requirements.

Hunting on Public Land

You need a hunting license to hunt on public land in New York State.

Additional Licenses and Permits

In addition to a hunting license, you may also need additional licenses or permits to hunt certain species or in certain areas.
