Football: Out of Bounds Call After Catch - NFHS vs. NCAA & NFL Rules
Question
I'm a wide receiver so I'd like to know that if you jump up in the air catch the ball then another player pushes me out of bounds in the middle of the air is it out or penalty?
Answer
As a referee, I always make 50% of the crowd happy!!!!!!! In NFHS (high school) & NCAA (college), a receiver can be "carried out" but get the spot if in fact the official rules that he would have come down in bounds on his own accord.....
However, in the NFL, the receiver must touch the ground w/ both feet in bounds no matter what.....
If this helped, please leave a positive rating, if not then please advise how I may assist you further........
