ideal position for me

Question
Hi, i am 6 feet exactly and weighing 200 pounds. I am currently training with the starting safety of the football team to help loose weight, get faster and stronger. I want to know what is an ideal position for me. I plan to loose about 15 pounds of fat.

Thanks for the question.  It depends really where the team needs you.  I have coached at places where 200 pounds would make you a lineman, and and other places where 200 pounds makes you a running back!!

If you think you are athletic enough to play a skill position go for it.  If you see yourself as being more physical than be a linemen.  It wouldn't hurt to ask your coach which position would get you on the field the quickest.  If he tells you that you would play a lot at running back, for example, than do things to make you get quicker and more agile.

Again, it is hard for me to tell you what your ideal position is because every school is different.  Just get yourself in the best shape possible to be able to contribute to your team and get playing time.
