Left offensive Tackle

Question
Sir,
My son Kevin Jr is a rising High School Jr. He is 6'1, 288 and will play tackle next season. What can I do to assist him with attaining quickier feet for past protection blocking, explosive movement off the line(pull/firing out),  run blocking and any other things that I can take do to help him in his quest to become better. He has really worked hard this year but constantly wants to get better.

Answer
I would suggest having Kevin jump rope everyday.  It sounds simple but it is great way to get the feet to become quicker.  Running tires or ropes will also help him with obtaining quicker feet.  Also have him do very short sprints.  Have him focus on the first two or three steps of the sprint.  These sprint don't need to be any more than 10 to 15 yards.  Also have him run the same sprints but in a back pedal.  This will improve his overall coordination, and his pass blocking quickness.  Be the best and easiest exercise is jumping rope.  GOOD LUCK COACH NOEL!
