how to become a better defensive tackle

Question
wuts up coach Louis, my name is Jay Fryerson, I am 20 years old 6'4 350lbs, i'm very fast and athletic for my size i graduated in 2005 and this year i am going to a division 3 school to play football and transfer to a division 1 college after about 2 years, i have been working out and lifting weights and watching what i eat and have been on a strict regiment since my last game in october of 2004, it has been three years but i have not lost a step and i just want your input in what i should do to be a better defensive tackle and what exercises or things could i work on to better myself for the college level, thank you.

Answer
Dear Jay,
Try playing basketball and handball. When you play basketball you do a lot of running back and forth on the basketball court. This helps you get in shape. You have to play a lot of defense and offense on a basketball court. The foot movement, used to play defense and offense on a basketball team, are the same foot work that a football player would use during a game.

When you play handball, you do a lot of running back and forth and side to side. These are the same movements used by a the defense and offense on the football field.
Give it a try.

Your friend, Coach Louis.
