vintage cane pole

Question
I have a tonkin (bamboo) cane pole and it has signed wording "River Master" on it. It has what appears to be a wooden handle almost a foot long. There are three sections which fit together to make a 10-foot pole and a separate section that is thicker and makes a 7-foot pole. Any idea how old this pole is and what it is worth.

Kevin

Answer
Hi Kevin,

My reference materials do not list a "River Master" model name, but they don't list every model ever made so that is not unusual.

Does the rod actually have written on it "Tonkin Cane"?

Are there any other markings or decals on the rod?

What is the shape of the woodden handle?

Thanks,  Joe
