Identifying & Valuing Vintage Dickson Telescopic Pack Rods
Question
Hi.... I was at an estate auction and I bought whatever would happen to be in the top of an old barn....for $5.00! Up in the corner of this old barn, I found a large lot of vintage fishing lures, rods....ect. Most of it was visibly vintage....but there was this tube....that inside was a telescopic rod(beautiful I might add), in a plastic snap close wrapper. Inside was a paper that read DICKSON TELESCOPIC PACK ROD then it gives some instructions about the rod, and at the bottom it simply says Korea. Any info would be very helpfull!
Answer
Kathlene,
these rods dont generate much interest from collectors. Collectors are mainly interested in the high quality rods that were expensive in their day, making them scarce today to find.
In particular American made split bamboo rods (especially custom built, some high quality fiberglass rods.
