late Uncles Fenwick Fly rod

Question
Dear Joe..I was left my Uncles vintage Fenwick Feralite Fly Rod..I know nothing of rods or the reels I have as well..and many of my Uncles friends want to purchase the Fenwick from me..
Could you date it and possibly give me a value...?
I is marked: Fenwick Feralite FS67-3...69"...3 7/8oz...then a number B 7489..4 pieces in an orange sack and then in a metal tube...still has Fenwick warranty booklet..looks like it was not used or possibly just a few times.
Thanking you in advance for your time..
Jude'

Answer
Hi Jude,

For the other readers, a little history...Fenwick designated their older fly rods as "FF-xxx" and their older spinning rods as "FS-xxx", so the FS-67-3 is a spinning rod not a fly rod.  I would guess this one to be from the 1960s or 1970s.

Used this model doesn't seem to command really high prices; maybe $20-$40 or so.  However, you have everything and it looks like it has not been used much at all.  It is possible that you could expect to get more in the $50-$60 range if the rod is in like new condition.  It all depends on the potential buyer and how badly he or she wants the rod.

It sounds like a very nice rod.  If you fish and do any travelling at all, this would be a good setup to take along.

Thanks,  Joe
