value of old fly rods

Have a bill barnes # 960 combo split bamboo 4 pcs and a horrocks-ibbotson co Uticia ny roosevelt model 2 pc in vg cond. I'm looking to sell. Thank's Mark

I  have a Bill Barnesrod, he seems to have been a Denver fishing celebrity  in the fifties associated with Dave Cooks sporting goods stores. He is unknown outside of that. Is not in any books, I found an ad that gives me that information.  So how much is it worth, very little because there is no history on who made the rod, therefore little to no collectors interest. Combo spin/fly rods are rarely good fishing tools, in my experience.

Then there is the Horrocks-Ibbotson, H-I, it is not very valuable.
They are looked down upon by the collecting community and often they are justified. They were sort of mass produced , rather heavy and very slow. They are not going to resale for very much.
A small portion of these rods are decent fishing tools . It is the collector community that decides the prices , please  don't blame the messenger.
I find two books are available at larger libraries to get history and or value:
Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) ,add 30% due to the age of the book.

I checked ebay for comparable rods to your Roosevelt and found  an average price of $50

Homel gives the H-I "Cascade" fly rod 9' c.1948 , with an extra tip, 3 sections the  value of  $20, 55 and $95 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively. The 2 piece shorter than 9 foot rod is going to be worth more.

Condition is not just a feeling , there's some judgement but it has some objective criteria.
Summary ?Very Good Condition ( from Homel)
(1) Original rod finish with few flaws
(2) Grip, ferrules and reel seat show average, moderate use
(3) No missing or altered components (exceptions noted in book)
(4) Some minor wear to guides and wraps acceptable
(5) Rod is complete with original bag and case
(6) Rod was generally well maintained and is fully functional

Most of the rods I seen evaluated by people who have seen one or two rods are greatly over evaluated.
