loaded new reel

hi,i got a zebco slab seeker with a loaded reel attached.the reel says depth locater on it,alsoit has 2 pins on the sides which slide up and lock to the reel top with the line underneath,they say off and set. no instructions came with this setup and im new to this.question is i dont know how to TAKE APART THE REEL AND string this rod and what these 2 pins are for.HELP!if you can i like to do this on my own.thank you,regards THE NEWBE,SAL.

I think I am following what you are asking.  You are asking how to get the line cover off, right?

I don't have any experience with the slab seeker reels in particular, but nearly every zebco for the past 30 years works the same.  

Those two "pins" or dimples in the cover fit into slots below.  If you rotate that lid counter clockwise about a half inch you will feel it stop and then you can pull the cover straight off.  

At that point you have access to the spool and can put on new line.
