all star fishing pole richardson usa chicago

I have a 3 section fishing pole paint is probably 85 percent there. Cork handle is in good shape it has 3 eyelets it has a bag it came in. It is not telescopic. But packs down very nicely. Handle.has some one 'initial 's on it. What can you tell me about it? Age? Value? And anything else of interest? Thanks for your time. Dave s.

the Richardson Rod and Reel Company was in business from 1890 to 1910. Usually the paint on these metal rods is not mint, and they sell for $10 to $20. If its perfect...maybe 30-40.

Rod collectors are more interested in rods that were high end in their day - especially custom built split bamboo rods, then custom build fiberglass/graphite rods after WWII.

The steel rods were made at low cost and high volume, affecting their value.
