Rule 28 (c)

Question
A player declares his ball unplayable and invokes Rule 28 (c). Does the player require to use the same club used for measuring the 2 club length for his next shot?

Answer
Hello Bessie,  The answer is no, the player is not required to use the club he used to measure relief.  That's why players tend to use the longest club in the bag to determine the greatest amount of relief, keeping in mind the ball must then be dropped within the 2 club lengths.  Something else to keep in mind that may be of benefit is that once the ball is dropped within the 2 club lengths, it can roll as much as 2 club lengths from there before it must be re-dropped.

Fairways and Greens,

John
