Optimizing Green Pin Placement: A Comprehensive Guide

Ken..I understand the guides for pin location relative to edge of the green, but we all have questions about how one tests the green for a relocation of the pin.  I had always heard that "fair" placement involved dropping balls around the new pin location to see how they rolled....if the balls rolled away from the hole from all angles to 12-20 past the pin, this location was deemed unfair.
